Position Summary

Trendcend Media is seeking a Senior Database Developer to support the data infrastructure behind our creative, strategic, and AI-driven operations. This individual will design, optimize, and maintain backend data systems, with a focus on high-volume Oracle SQL/PLSQL pipelines, reporting logic, and evolving data warehouse structures.

 

The ideal candidate has deep experience with Oracle databases, thrives in fast-paced technical environments, and brings strong analytical and architectural thinking. This role will collaborate with internal teams to translate business and creative needs into scalable data solutions that strengthen our technical foundation as Trendcend continues to grow.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Analyze business and technical requirements to design and enhance data warehouse structures
• Develop, optimize, and maintain Oracle SQL and PL/SQL code for ETL pipelines, reporting layers, and backend features
• Collaborate with Product and internal teams to scope and define new database-driven functionality
• Improve performance across multi-terabyte Oracle environments, focusing on tuning, data modeling, and efficient load processes
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and approaches to strengthen Trendcend’s data architecture
• Partner closely with Operations to support ongoing stability and troubleshooting within the data warehouse
• Create and maintain documentation for schemas, data flows, and technical architecture
• Contribute thought leadership around best practices in warehouse design, optimization, and backend workflows
• Ensure database operations meet high standards of performance, scalability, reliability, and accuracy
• All other duties as assigned

 

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 6+ years of Oracle-focused backend database development experience
• Strong expertise in Oracle 8i, 9i, or 10g using SQL and PL/SQL
• Proven experience coding ETL processes directly in SQL/PLSQL (not ETL tools)
• Experience working with multi-terabyte data warehouses
• Background in ERD modeling, schema design, and warehouse architecture
• Experience with Java backend, OLAP technologies, or open-source databases is a plus

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Expert-level SQL and PL/SQL development and optimization skills
• Deep understanding of data warehouse design, ETL architecture, and database performance tuning
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities in high-volume, performance-sensitive environments
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized, proactive, and effective at managing multiple priorities
• Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally with product, engineering, and operations
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment
• High technical judgment with strong attention to detail
• Must be US-based; relocation and sponsorship are not available

 

Compensation

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience and technical expertise.
This role is not eligible for sponsorship.
